Ubisoft has officially unveiled Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the next major installment in their acclaimed historical action series. This new entry promises to bring closure to Ezio Auditore’s story arc while expanding upon the series‘ signature gameplay mechanics and historical settings.
The game will take players to Constantinople during the height of the Ottoman Empire, featuring a richly detailed recreation of the historic city. This new setting introduces unique architectural challenges for the parkour system and provides a fresh cultural backdrop for the narrative. The game world will include multiple districts with distinct characteristics, from bustling markets to towering minarets.
New gameplay mechanics include an expanded Eagle Vision system and the introduction of the hookblade, which adds new traversal and combat options. The crafting system has been enhanced, allowing players to create various tools and bombs with different tactical applications. The popular Brotherhood recruitment system returns with additional features and deeper integration into both story missions and free-roam gameplay.
The narrative will weave together the stories of both Ezio and Altair, providing answers to long-standing questions in the series‘ lore while pushing the modern-day story of Desmond forward. Multiplayer returns with new modes, maps, and characters, building upon the foundation established in Brotherhood. The game represents what Ubisoft describes as the culmination of Ezio’s journey through the Assassin’s Creed saga.
